Container trains


The train of the combined transport “Viking” unites the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny with the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda. 

Train goes along the route Draugiste - Port - Kena (Lithuania) - Gudogai - Slovechno (Belarus) - Berezhest' - Odessa / Chornomorsk-Port - Ferry (Ukraine) - Varna - Sofia (Bulgaria) and in the opposite direction.
The length of the route from Chornomorsk-Port to Klaipeda is 1766 km. The train travel time is 59 hours. The train can transport 20, 30, 40 and 45-foot universal, refrigerated and tank containers.
The train departs according to the established schedule:

  • from the stations in the Odessa region - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays;
  • from Kazatin station - on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays. 

The train of Combined transport includes cars with universal and specialized containers, specialized platforms, formed hitch with large-capacity refrigerated containers, cars with road trains, removable car bodies, following the appointment at the port stations of Ukraine and Lithuania, as well stations of Ukraine, Lithuania and Belarus.
      For inclusion in the train of the combined transport “Viking” of export-import cargo, the following stations are open:

  • on the railways of Ukraine, the stations of Chornomorsk, Odessa-Liski, Kiev-Liski, Donetsk-Liski, Lugansk-Liski, Kharkov-Liski, Dnepr-Liski, Nikopol, Zaporozhye-Left, Novomoskovsk-Dneprovsky, Stakhanov, Brovary, Poltava-Kievskaya, Vinnitsa, Novaya Borovaya, Nickel-Pobuzhsky, Industrial, Cherkasy, Khmelnitsky, Kozyatin II, Chertomlyk, Ichnya, Klavdievo, Port Zaporozhye.
  • Belarus railways Belarus Belarus open to work with large-capacity to according to Annex 8.2 to SMGS, as well as stations that are not open for operations with CPC with the written consent of the CU or the station manager.
  • On Lithuanian railways - all stations are open for work with large-tonnage containers according to Annex 8.2 to the SMGS.

The project “Viking” was joined:

  • in December 2012 - EOOD “UPS - Freight Transportation” (Bulgaria)
  • in July 2013 - the State Enterprise “Railways of Moldova”;
  • in May 2014 - CHFR Marfa JSC.
